The Royal Palace of Amsterdam (In Dutch: Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam or Paleis op de Dam) is located at the Dam Square in Amsterdam. It is one of three palaces in the Netherlands (the other two are Paleis Huis ten Bosch and Paleis Noordeinde) which are at the disposal of the monarch by Act of Parliament. And it is now in use for King Willem-Alexander.
This palace was built as the city hall of Amsterdam during Dutch Golden Age in 17th century. It became the Royal Place for King Louis Napoleon Bonaparte and later the Dutch Royal House.
How do I get to the Royal Palace of Amsterdam?
The palace is located on the west side of Dam Square in Amsterdam city centre, facing the national monument and next to the Nieuwe Kerk. De Wallen and Amsterdam Chinatown are on the east-northern side of it, and you can also find the very well-known Chinese restaurant FuLu Mandarijn on its south side.
